  • The Queens Head in the centre of Crowmarsh Gifford, just a few minutes over Wallingford Bridge from the town. We can be reached from Oxford in about half an hour by driving southeast along the A4074 through Benson, and from Reading by following the A4074 out through Woodcote. From the M40, exit at J7 and follow the A329 towards Wallingford and turn left onto the A4074. If you’re using a sat nav, set it for OX10 8ER.

  • Our closest railway station is Cholsey, just under three miles away. The station offers links to Oxford, Reading, London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads.

Nearby attractions

Spending a day or two in the Wallingford area? A visit to The Queen’s Head is a must - but there’s plenty more to do besides.  The Wallingford Pancake Race on Shrove Tuesday, and the Food and Beer & Blues Festivals in summer are among the highlights of a packed calendar. 

You can also enjoy the Castle Gardens and walks along the riverside, or visit the town’s heated outside pool - a great place for the family to enjoy.

Wallingford is also a popular haunt for film and television crews, with Midsomer Murders regularly filmed here and in the surrounding villages. Also nearby is Basildon Park, a National Trust property near Pangbourne which featured in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
